The department of Business Administration and management has the following courses;

MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

The programme has the following specialization;Accounting, Finance, Risk Management and Insurance, International Business Management,     Marketing, Operations Management, Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship

Entry Requirement for MBA Programme: Bachelor’s Degree with first class or second class honours upper division, bachelors degree (lower division) with two years working experience

Mode of study: Evening/weekend/School based and Fulltime

Duration of the programme: at least 2years

Admission period: January, May and September every year.

MASTER OF SCIENCE IN HUMAN RESOURCEMANAGEMENT

Entry Requirements:  bachelor’s degree with at least Upper Second Class honours in any discipline or its equivalent from a recognized university, or Bachelor’s Degree, Lower Second Class honours degree in any or a bachelor’s degree at pass level in any discipline from an accredited University with a Credit pass in Higher Diploma in Human Resources Management from Kenya National Examinations Council and other institution recognized by the University Senate

Mode of study: Evening/weekend/School based and Fulltime

Duration of the programme: at least 2years

Admission period: January, May and September every year.

BACHELOR OF COMMERCE PROGRAMME

This programme has the following areas of specialization;  Accounting, Business Administration, Enterprise Development and Management, Finance, Human Resource Management, Insurance and Risk Management, Marketing, Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, andOperations and Information Systems Management.

Entry Requirements for Bachelor of commerce  programme: Min C+ (plus) at KCSE and at least a C (Plain) in mathematics and C+ plus in English or 2 principal Passes and 1 subsidiary at A-level plus atleast a credit in English and mathemeatics  at o-level.  Or CPS/CPA part 1. Or Diploma in Business related discipline or CPA part I and II( May be admitted into third year)

Mode of study: Evening/weekend/School based and Fulltime

Duration of the programme: at least  3 ½ years

Admission period: January, May and September every year

DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME

Entry Requirement for Diploma in Business Management programme:  Mean Grade C (plain) at KCSE or KCE Div III or any other relevant Certificate recognized by senate.

Mode of study: Evening/weekend and Fulltime

Duration of the programme: at least 4 semesters

School of Business and Economics (SOBE) held a board meeting on 16th January, 2020. The meeting was chaired by the Dean, Dr. Kadian Wanyonyi. The meeting was a success with a good attendance and productive discussions on students matters, ISO matters, corruption and prevention, a post-mortem of 2019 graduation, staff welfare matters and planning for 2020 SOBE activities. Also in attendance was representative of FESS student Nominees.

Kibabii University Represented at United Nations African Institute of Economic Development and Planning

Dr. Muganda Munir Manini  from the School of Business  and Economics  attended a Training of Trainers Workshop on “African Regional Integration Index: Its use for Policy Development and Analysis” fully funded by the United Nations African Institute for Economic Development and Planning in Dakar, Senegal on 1st-2nd July 2019. The course aimed at providing training on African Integration Index with a view to enhance the capacity of member states and regional economic communities to develop, implement and monitor policies and programmes in the areas of intra-African and international trade and create an environment conducive to attracting investment
 
The major goal of this Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop was to create a large pool of experts in the measure of African regional integration. Specifically, the course aimed at deepening the knowledge of participants on the African Regional Integration Index. Fifteen of the continent best talents were drawn from various countries in Africa as experts. This pool of experts were equipped to act as trainers and consultants for African middle and senior managers in their respective member States on the African Regional Integration Index (ARII) and also in presential courses. Selected candidates were also included in the IDEP panel of experts.

Kibabii University wins to host fully funded KFW Scholars Masters programmes in the following Schools:

  1. School of Computing and Informatics (SCAI) wins Inter-University Council for East Africa /German Development Bank (KFW) to host the Masters programme in Information Technology (MSC. School of Business and Economics (SOBE) wins Inter-University Council for East Africa /German Development Bank (KFW) to host the Masters programme in Business Administration (MBA) that will be a fully funded scholarship. This was competitively won following a call to all Universities within the East African Community region. Programme sponsored by financial cooperation between the Federal Republic of Germany and the East African Community (EAC).
 
Other Universities that won are: Kyambogo University, Makerere University, Mbarara University of Science and Technology, INES-Ruhengeri, Kenyatta University, Dedan Kimathi University, University of Nairobi, Moshi Cooperative University, Sokoine University of Agriculture and University of Dodoma.

Kibabii University held its 3rd Graduation Ceremony on 23rd November, 2018 at the Graduation Square. The colorful ceremony was presided over by Ambassador (Dr.) Amina Mohamed, Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Education on behalf of the Chancellor, H.E. Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta.

1704 graduands were awarded with doctorates, degrees, diplomas and certificates in various fields; Doctorates 6, Masters 26, Bachelors 1314, Diplomas 302 and Certificates 56.

On the last day of Kibabii University 4th edition of the cultural and career week, Kenya Commercial Bank, Human Resource Director was invited to share with the Students on human resource issues. The students were exposed to market demands for employment and how to obtain and grow on the career ladder. In addition, the entrepreneurial aspect of every course was emphasized to nurture the culture of job creation. The students greatly appreciated KCB for the exposure.
