The Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting is one of the two departments in the School of Business and Economics. The Department endeavors to train specialized courses right from the Bachelors level to the PhD level. Currently the Department offers: Diploma in Business Management Accounting Option, Business Management Finance Option, Bachelor of Commerce in Finance Option, Bachelor of Commerce Accounting Option, Bachelor of Business Management in Finance and Accounting and Masters of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting. These programmes are constantly reviewed to reflect the ever dynamic business environment.  By undertaking our programmes, you are assured of obtaining a marketable credential that reflects the breadth and depth of the department and our global reputation. The department also offers KASNEB professional courses like CPA alongside our academic programmes.

The Accounting concentrations of our program equip students with the necessary skills to support managers in decision making, controlling and planning. Students learn how to use accounting information to communicate clearly and effectively and are equipped with the practical skills to work in financial accounting, management accounting, auditing and taxation.

Whereas the concentration on finance focuses on the major areas of modern finance and thus covers issues such as funds management, risk management, corporate finance and financial instruments and valuation. The students may be employed in investment management firms, in the financial sector and in the finance departments of diverse corporations.
